I am REALLY new to all of this and have a friend who is a mechanic and a hobbyist helping me....however, I like to double check things and not trsut everything over to him!

I just had a 215 V8 rebuilt for my 1962 Special. It has been primed at 20 psi. I have a new water pump, new radiator, new seals and gaskets on the tranny. Once everything is hooked up and ready to go, is there a checklist of things I should make sure of before I turn the key?

Also....I am going to buy a new thermostat....I can find them for the 62 special at classicbuicks.com for 160 degrees and 180 degrees. I live in a moderate climate. Is 160 the way to go?

    Thanks!
