Hello all, I need some bearings for a street 455. Daily driven, slightly abusive. What is the best deal in town (or out of)? Thank you.
Autozone, Advance, Oreillys, Pep Boys, Summit, NAPA, etc. Federal Mogul 8-3320CP rods and 4664M mains or Clevite CB762P rod, MS908P mains. $51.39 for rods and $75.39 for mains from www.summitracing.com
The "online" price I'm getting from my local AutoZone: Clevite 77 rod bearings part #CB762P- $5.89ea x 8= $47.12 Cleveite 77 main bearing set part #MS908P- $33.77 Incidentally, they have a set of Badger (cast) pistons part #P528-K8 listed for $185.99
that is a excellent price on bearings, i did some research because im looking for a commplete re ring kit, AUTO ZONE dosnot have rings and only head gaskets, if you bought the bearings, then the rest from POSTONS it looks like you would be about $240, POSTONS sells a complete re ring kit with street strip moly rings , and vally pan gasket for $250. just some info, does eneyone beat POSTONS kit price??
Everybody sells rings, bearings and gakets. This stuff is widely and readily available. SP/FM Moly rings E-289K are $78 from Summit. Fel-Pro full gasket set FS8494PT is $ 64 from Advance, intake gasket MS96005 is $24 from Advance. Looks like $166 total.
Hello all. I talked to Mike @ TA about bearings recently. I wanted to order the 3/4 grooved main bearings. I told him it would be for a daily driver that would hit the strip occasionally, and driven in a slightly abusive manner. He told me that the metal in the 3/4 grooved bearing is not for daily drivers, and I should buy regulalr bearings. I think he said the 3/4 grooved bearing is a harder metal, which is better for racing, but not for the street (I hope I did not get that backwards). FYI.
