Will a big block chevy (454) starter fit a 455 Buick and if not what is the difference. There are some remanufactured units at the local show here for a good price and I was wondering if they could be used.

    Thanks

You can use, just have to change the nose piece. In fact, we used a HD chevy starter on my racecar. But today I installed a Powermaster hi-torque little job, what a difference starting!

Roberta, thanks for the quick reply. There is a guy at the local auto show here selling remanufactured high tork starters for Chevy's for $60.00 Heck, I couldn't get one rebuilt for that price around here. I think I will pick one up tomorrow as a spare for my Stage if he is still at the show.

    Thanks again, I appreciate it.
