Is there any advantage with the 67 drivers side exhaust manifold vs the rest of them once you start porting them? Tommy
It flows a little better and is easier to port. If you are able to weld on an exhaust flange and do away with the bolt on flange then all the better.
might sound silly but all you need is a 650hp motor and a set of cast iron exhaust manifolds. you'll be right about 600hp, give or take.
Jim, a while back i compared the 67 passenger side to later models and found they were also bigger in the ports and outlet, has this been your experience as well?
I've read information on this site somewhere about the big block exhaust manifold comparisons of '67 vs the rest. Seems the '67 design does flow a little better, but were more prone to cracking, which is why Buick went to the 'reinforced' design. It would be nice if someone would come up with some kind of coating (like the Jet Hot ceramic coating or something) that both insulated and reinforced the manifolds to the point where you could open the exit port to 2 1/2" with no risk of cracking.
Yes, 67 pass and driver side are bigger than the later years on the inlets and outlets from the factory.
I am making around 420 on the wheels with a 800 Q-jet tuned to 847. In the winter the manifolds from you will go on
