I would like to know some of those fast 455 engine combos because I am putting another 455 together and would like to know not to go the wrong route this time. The first is quick but can't get it to work out for me so I am going to build another motor and would like some combo input.

I think you should post your personal goal like ( what ET youd like to run) for example, and then the guys who run those numbers can give you the advice you're seeking, also post some info on the car you plan on doing this in, for even better results.

Yea, it's a real package deal. The car, it's weight, transmission, rearend, suspension, and the engine all work together to meet a goal.

Most of the "faster" combo's out there right now are 470-535CI with heads that are about 330-370cfm intake 240-260cfm exhaust with at least 13-1 CR.

At this level you need a girdle.......
If possible a billet crank will help with durability as well.

Some guys have made good power with solid flat tappet cams others use rollers.

Be ready for about 6800 to 7000 peak rpm with this power......

There is so much more but this is just a general idea on what to shoot for on some of the big ticket items

You could aslo go over to the parts for sale forum and buy Dennis Halladay's Motor and trans complete and drop in your car and go to the track. Providing you have everthing else you will need to support it.It takes more than the motor alone to get down the track.

The best money is spent in your heads. Then the rest will follow.
