O.K. Thought we should start this one....

Whose watching? and what is catching your eye (or how big is the puddle of drool on your lap?)

Thought the comment about 15-20 year old collectable vehicles being non-existant was intresting. thou... Brock Yates chimed in about turbo-GN's.

Saw a 1969 442 convt' go across for the 64,000 but it was a W-32 4-speed (one of three)

Just thought we could chime in over the next three nights

I hate to tell you but the W 42 Olds was Buicklawyer's car. We were together in Charlotte last April and sold it for the mid 30s. I told him to watch BJ last night as he did not know it was on TV. Neither of us knew the car was there. Talked to him this morning and he is not feeling too well after losing 25K.

I thought that w-32 was an automatic

They said it belonged to Roxy Roker's boy, Lenny.

That car was the Detroit Expo car used by Olds a few years back. Trophy blue and beautifully done. It was on the Olds brochure. I told him to not sell that car from the day it was unloaded from the hauler. Now he agrees.

    cool show

I had to opportunity to go to the high end auction at Hersey last year. My buddy had to show his "credentials" (bank account) to get us in! Lots of looky-loos in the lobby watching on monitors. It is very interesting and not a bad way to pick up a car, deals are there if the audience is not interested in a particular car. (A decent GS Stage 1 went for $17K last month) We watched a guy drop $240K on a car! If you get the chance, try to attend an auction, its fun!

Hey everyone, The Atlantic City Convention Center has their annual Car Auction/swap meet in February.I don't remember the dates off hand, but I know it's sometime in February. I always look forward to going to this event-after playing the one-armed bandits and making money,I head over to the car auction. It's interesting what shows up at this event.I remember about 8 or 9 years ago I saw a cool 71 Lime Mist GSX Stage 1 4 speed at auction.I believe there is a gentleman on this board that owns this car. What a cool car!!:eek2:

BJ auctions sell some nice, nice stuff. Amazing what those cars go for, Lennys 442 was awesome but i really liked that one 58 t bird was really nice as well. Hope to see a GN or GS, i ve been to Auburn Indiana BJ and it has some awesome rides. Any '03 or '04 cobras for sale there? Those things run strong as a buddy of mine from New Orleans just sold his 98 cobra and got a brand new one, blue, and that thing hauls ass. In less than a week hes smoked a few civics (obviously) and an M3 as well. If i had the $$ i would get one.... Starts at 5pm et tonight!!!

I believe Auburn might be Kruse . It is not BJ. BJ does Scottsdale, LA, Monaco and as of last year West Palm Fla.

You are right on that as behold im looking at the program when i went to Auburn two years ago. I have been to Scottsdale as well with my father a few years ago, and let me tell you they have some serious bidders in there! I remember we saw a beautiful hemi road runner there i believe a 68, triple black, go for almost $90k! Ouch, just look back at old issues of MCR circa 1986/1987,makes you want to scream for what those cars were going for then! If only i was old enough then :af:

That Packard they opened up with was an awesome car as well.

I fell asleep just after they wheeled off the red Mustang Convertible. Couldn't keep my eyes open.

But tonight is Friday night. I can stay up all night! :3gears:

Excellent point---since the whole idea behind the W32 was a "tamed down" package----which included the auto trans. High price was probably helped by the hype around current ownership. Patton

EDIT: Info correction---car is an automatic, not 4 speed -- checked their website.

Whoops sorry by bad... Must have been my mind thinking the only way I'd drive it is if it had a manual

    Thanks for the correction

    Carl,
That is my car you saw. We found that car in 1982 and my friend bought it from the original owner for around $5k. It was 100% original except for headers. He sold it at the AC auction for around $17k if I remember correctly to a rich collector from the DC area. My friend missed the car so much he bought it back from that guy for a $5k premium over what he sold it for around a year or two later! I bought it from him around 5-6 years ago.

    the auction

we were at the barrett-jackson auction in scottsdale in 2000 . what a great experience . super cars . remember a 1970 documented , restored chevelle ss convertible sold for $108000 in about 2 minutes , which is low compared to one that sold last year .
the w-32 olds was 1 of 3 known to be in existence . will interesting to see what the rare documented 70 hemi cuda brings .
someone got a good deal on the 63 red vette - 327-300hp + powerglide .

    auctions

I am done there right now several auctions on at the same time in the area and lots of nice cars but no nice GS's or GN's ,more chevys than anything but still cool. Iwas hoping to see some GS's but for some reason there's none to be seen. Went to a few bone yards and found all kinds of cool cars just sitting most of them with very little rust. Definitely a experience worth doing.I hope one day the Buicks get the appreciation they deserve from the rest of the car world. Bill

Unlwess they changed the engine, which I doubt since it appreared to not have power brake booster when the hood was opened, it had a 455 instead of the correct 400. Not correct wheels or tires and grilles were blacked out. Nice car but I was happy to get mid 30's. Shows what I know.

Just sold a new 2004 GTO (black) right after a 64 GTO convt, 4 speed. I got to hand it to GM, the new GTO is a lot uglier than I even thought and that is saying something.

no affense to anybody who owns a pontiac but i believe that the GTO holds its name as GOAT!:moonu: :pp They look ugly, and if that aint enough, i have ridden in one with a tripower engine and it wasnt fast. I dont even like pontiacs that much. But I guess they make good grocery-go-getters:laugh:
