Weeping Willows are pretty, but they are messy as hell and if planted near sewage pipes will grow roots into them. Don't ever plant one anywhere near a septic system.
Yes John you see I planted them across driveway . The house is way to the right. Septic is behind house. Those weeping willows are only 8 years old . They were twigs when I planted. Now 60-70 feet high. I have no more road noise. And when my buddy’s drive down the main road I can’t see them giving me the finger
I planted some evergreen seedlings in front of our Massachusetts house for the same reason. It worked beautifully. Sometimes natural solutions are best. As I write this I am taking a break from cutting down a dead pine. It will be replaced with a couple of Mango trees and one Avocado. I don't care about the fruit, we just happen to have some young treelets and we might as well use them.
