Do not deal with this outfit. It's just not worth it.
They might have some NOS stuff, but the rest is mostly junk that they are trying to unload. I called about a right taillight for a 76 LeSabre because their website showed one in stock. It had no notes with it like some others saying "pitted" or "cracked". Still, I asked for them to pull this part, then call me so that its condition could be discussed BEFORE SHIPPING IT TO ME. They wanted payment/shipping information up front- I guess for me to prove that I was serious.
Apparently that was not the reason. They pulled the part and just shipped it to me. What showed up was some horribly pitted, cracked, been in a wreck taillight assembly that made my originals look like show pieces. It wasn't even worthy enough for a derby car. I've sent the part back and got stuck with some restocking fee, and shipping both ways- as if it was my fault that I received that piece of trash. They even tried to get out of any refund/return at first. They obviously enjoy tricking people into getting stuck with their old trash.
I would consider any part that they may tempt you with to be simply not available. The Buick community does not need people like this.

Welcome to the "been scammed by CARS" club.

That company has been discussed at LENGTH on this board MANY times. Not in a good wau either.

They practice very unethical business quite often. They are probably paying all their lease payments and overhead with money gathered from "restocking" fees. It truly is a joke. There is never any "we're looking out for you, the customer" attitude eminating from that business. I'm amazed they are still around quite frankly.

  3. That's a real bummer, David. :( And here I thought that maybe they were cleaning up their act, per the last several comments on the loooong discussion we had here a couple months ago. How long ago did you deal with them on this part? The owner had wanted any disatisfied customers to call and ask for him, to address any old "issues"...

This has all happened over the last few weeks. I've tried to work this out over the phone to no avail. Now I just figure it's a lesson learned, and that I should let anyone know- if you've got a choice, don't deal with this company. I am now among those scammed by CARS. They became very uncooperative right up front when I asked about the condition of the part, basically telling me,"take it or leave it". No one wanted to spend any time to make sure that I would be happy with the part. In hindsight, I wouldn't have given them any payment/shipping information until they called me back about the condition of the part. Then, if they never called, I would have not bought it. Instead, they tried to force the issue, with the result being no more business from me. I had been looking at several of their parts for the many Buick restorations that I am involved with. Now I will gladly look elsewhere.
David, the company as whole may be trying to straighten up their act. But the particular person that I've been dealing with isn't helping at all.

The problem with that place is that Glenn Cechine, who is the owner, might be concerned enough to go out of his way to help you. Problem is, getting in contact with him is like talking to the wall.

When I had problems there, as soon as he became involved my credits were issued and my parts were sent to me next day air at no extra charge. I don't know what the problem is, but if that was my company I would be very concerned about things like this. I also think if he had some real competition he would have to make some changes or else. I avoid doing business with them at all costs. :bglasses:

    BCA Also

This subject has had a couple threads on the BCA Website as well. Surely someone ahs showed Glen these threads and he has an idea of how much Cars is loathed by Buick people. Guess he just does't care!

Looks like I've been very very lucky with these folks.
Bought a couple NOS trim pieces over the winter for my '71.
Can't say anything against them, shipping & service seemed good to me.

STEVE, YOU ARE LUCKY! CARS JAMED ME SO BAD ON A 2X4 SET-UP A FEW YEARS BACK THAT I STILL CAN'T SIT DOWN.

Possible they felt a little bad for me already.
Once I say Canada, all you can hear is the "cha-ching" going off in the supplier's heads & the $$ rolling around his eye sockets.
    Hey , give me a bit of a break,eh?

Can't even get through over the phone today. Busy, busy, busy... They either have only one phone line or have too many people trying to return stuff. Too much to do- I'm letting mastercard deal with it. If they agree, then my refund will be extracted from them. If not, can't say I didn't try.
Please don't do business with these people.

    Decent experience

Can't comment on others experience, but I've had really decent experiences with them over the last 6 months. Not necessarily cheap but parts have been as represented and shipped promptly. Bought a used dash/instrument panel, used remote driver mirror, NOS door edge guards, PS pulley and some other things I can't remember.

Been dealing primarily with Kevin and Victor.

Sorry others have been having problems and I'm certainly not afraid to criticize if i think I've been had.

I wonder if Dick still works there? He is the guy who jerked me.......without getting more specific, mostly b/c I had a return and a mistake with the quantity.........he sent one rubber bumper instead of two. Then turned around and charged me a minimum order charge and more shipping to send the other one. I sent back some parts that didn't fit and it took two months and numerous phone calls.......Glen is never there when you ask for him.

A few other times I ordered things were OK but I can't remember who took my order.:bglasses:

    Refund finally received

Well, CARS never came through. So Mastercard forcibly extracted the remainder of my refund. Don't waste your time dealing with this outfit.
