Well today I started my 1969 buick riviera today. I had just put a set of 72 mildly ported heads on it. I have a very mild cam along with an offy intake a headers. Upon starting it up I heard these horrible backfires. They werent constant just very sharp and loud. I thought it might be to rich so I leaned it out as much as I could. the backfires almost went away but are still present. I am stumped please help. I am running an 800cfm Edelbrock. Is that too much? any help is greatly appreciated, will
problem solved Well right when after I posted this I went outside my brother said well lets check the order the wires are in. It turns out almost all of them were wrong. There is still a little tuning to do but it feels good. thank, will
lol, Good that you found that, would have hated to see what happened after running for quite awhile like that. Good luck.
