What year of 455 has the oil sump in the rear of the oil pan?
When was the last 455 produced? What year was the engine without a smog pump.
Can I run a TPI from a B.B. Chev. with computer?

Buick 455 never had the oil pump in the pan. Last year of production is 76. 71 or older is with out smog. As a direct bolt on, no. But with enough money and fabrication skills any thing is adaptable.

He's referring to the SUMP. Not the pump. The sump/pickup tube was in the the rear on all cars but the Riviera which was a center sump pan. The pan and pick up tube can be swapped out.

That should be fairly easy swap. If you polish the cumbustion chambers you can go up to 10.1-10.5 on 93 pump gas. I have a spare center sump pan but, no pick up tube.
