I need some help. We were out riding the 4wheeler the other night, and it cut off and wouldn't start back up. The battery isn't dead, because it won't pull start, either. FYI, it is a 1997, all original except for a new battery and a couple month old spark plug. And I ain't dumb so it has been kept up on the fluids regularly.
If the timing chain was broke, it wouldn't turn over, would it? If you try to pull it, it turns over, but that is it. It won't start.
I read it that it would not turn over if you tried to pull start it. I would try and do a compression check. If nothing else pull the spark plug and check for fire and a compression. If no fire check the CDI or magnito. (common problem)
It is a 1997 Polaris Explorer 300. Not sure of the exact cc, but it is close to 300. It has a fairly new spark plug in it. No it won't start. It will turn over, but it won't start.
