Mark---on an old thread we were discussing the OPG chv0259 bucket seat "chrome" trim you got from OPG. I went to their site and clicked through to that part but from the pic it looks like a roll of the old, "wrong" stuff. In the pics you posted it looks like yours was pre-formed to fit the seat..at least your pic makes it look pre-molded.

How did the stuff you ordered come----in a roll?(like pic'd on OPGs website) or was is precut and pre-bent???

Thanks very much---I am getting ready to order some and want to make sure I get the stuff you showed and discussed as being "closest you have seen to original". Thanks for your help. Patton

I believe you get them now if you get the seat backs too.

Patton..thanks for the question....when I ordered the plastic chrome seat back trim previously, it was in a roll and the perfect size, just like the original----when new it is very pliable---many people use a hair dryer or similar heat source(set in the sun during a warm day) to make it most flexible during install....now the bad news...I ordered another set , same part # from OPG recently and it is too narrow...my beef with Y/O, OPG, etc is that they are parts resellers who wouldnt know correct from their own asses.....since I restore a car each year or so, I am constantly on the lookout for the correct materials, so I will post when I find them...by the way, I have e-mailed Jim at trishield performance for advice on this but he is evidently too important to answer this question, or maybe HE DOESNT KNOW!!!!---any way, good luck, and also: the very wide trim which some of the members have used, (Jim Lore are you listening?) is NOT correct!

thanks very much Mark---sounds like I will stick with good used originals for now...even if they are slightly shrunken in length. I agree with you on the product/originality knowledge of these vendors. Thank You

    plastic chrome seat trim

One other thing....the repro seat backs on the market are CRAP!!!!!!!!---not at all correct...do not buy!--not even useable for a driver...another junior high school level repro project...these do not have the correct "bulbs" on the corners to terminate the plastic chrome, nor the correct looking interior fittings for the attachment to the seat frames. JUNK :blast:

Great :Dou: Well, at least you saved me some money and hassle as I was getting ready to order a bunch of stuff on an Olds resto I am involved with. My good USED parts list just got a little longer. Once again Mark, a BIG thanks :TU: Patton
