ATF in the p/s pump??

On the cap of the power steering pump on my '60 LeSabre it says to use automatic transmission fluid, is that right???uzzled:

 

yes its true. not much to say about it but that im guessing the tranny and p/s pump need the same thickness of fluid. atf is a pretty complicated lubricant.

 

I use synthetic tranny fluid in mine....it works better and the pump is quieter when hot.:bglasses:
