I'm transplanting a 455 into my 69 skylark and i wanna put a 4 speed transmission, how do I go about changing the column , or can I? Also where can i find a 4 speed trannny?
I have the original standard, non tilt, floor shift column out of my 69 GS 400 that would probably work, that I could sell you. It's pretty much complete, in nice shape, has 45k miles on it and has been sitting in my garage for 25 years or so. The column swap really isn't bad at all. I just put a Tilt Column into my 72 and I did it in an afternoon by myself. Is the car an automatic now? Sounds like you will need a Standard Shift conversion with pedals and all. The 4 Speeds Trans are around, you just have to look Good Luck Dom
