When I just reported the news of semi-political stories....they got flushed.

I guess it all comes down to what side our fine moderator is on....:Brow:

    What a stupid statement...
I personally have over 50 guns, Much, much reloading equipment and hunting gear.Although I do not hunt as much anymore, I do occaisionly like to go out and target shoot along with my daughters and boys. They all know the correct way to handle guns and have the know how to shoot unwanted people who dare try to hurt them.ALL of my guns are family pieces and all mean something to me and my family as well as my sisters families. I was given the guns with the idea that when I am done with them, my kids and sisters kids would have something to remember my father who passed from cancer.I feel that these as well as dads tools and butchering equipment belong to his grand children.Just because you have no interest in something, why the hell would you want to see them take it away from me as well as obviously several others. They would be better off taking X boxes,Nintendo's Play stations off the market as there are more violent games that young kids play that involve killing people. That's more of a detriment than my guns.Perhaps what we need more than gun control is parent accountability. Parents need to stop blaming everyone else and pay attention to their kids. Maybe if they would have played a more proactive role in their lives, they wouldn't be out using assault rifles killing people..

The last link is a very good article, but it still doesn't show a correlation.

Allow me to clarify that when people here quote crime statistics and reflect an increase after gun control provisions, they have no shown a correlation that the increase in crime is directly related to the provisions. What if there was a national trend in increased crime? Was there a full moon? There are so many variables to consider in order to claim a correlation. I would think a pro-gun person would be wise to use statistics that can back any claim in order to look credible. To me, the 2nd Amendment is credible enough but the issue gets dragged down by the gun proponents.

I personally have zero guns, but I stand for the individuals rights to decide what they want, unlike the facists who want to make that decision for them.

I agree. I don't really care what or if there is a correlation. Crime prevention is a non factor in my support for the rights of individuals.

So I'm a facist? Or as the other poster said stupid? You guys infer a whole lot from a post that dosent say ANYTHING about which side of this issue I stand on.

I dont know if your a fascist, do you want to impose your beliefs on others by forcible means? If so you are, if not you aren't. Simple as that.

No one said you were stupid. That post was totally irrelevant to anything about this topic. The amount of guns one owns has nothing to do with gun control.I have a former employee who owns 1 of every Model 70 Winchester produced. He also collects .22 caliber rifles and Military guns. I made a mistake in my earlier post as I have 4 guns that potentially could have wounded or killed someone in its lifetime. 1 is a S&W former Indiana State Police hand gun(bought and registered legally) and (2) 303 British military guns as well as my 30/06 a former military gun..

Meanwhile since this post was started the stock market dropped like 400 points closing today at almost 7,000!! I am stating this here and now, if you see the market hit 5,000 you better start re-thinking and get your cash out before a run starts at banks as they may start closing their doors, and if the Chinese and other Nations decide to not buy anymore Bonds from us. The US Dollar will be worth as much as the peso.

So here we discuss things while our savings are going poof!!! Just like the Who song, "Meet the new boss same as the old boss". The very poor geting everything handed to them without making any effort, the ultra rich just plain don't give a rats ass about anything but themselves and who they can pay off. Mean while the rest of us middle class slobs get the ole wazzu up the ole poop shoot! If the crap hits the fan the ultra rich will remain insulated with all their vises while the rest of us fight it out to survive with nothing but your man hood in your hand!!! And if they could I bet the govt would tax that too, charge you by the inch LOL

Just look at colleges for our kids for example. Oh you make too much to get grants and tax breaks yet you don't make enough to afford it. Need a loan....hahahahahaha GOOD LUCK! And the banks keep getting their bailouts yet they are holding the money. If you have no money or if your here F'ING ILLEGAL you get free tuition. And the rich...well they can afford it either way.

Pretty soon it won't matter about what guns we want, no one will have a dime to buy one:pp And if you have one the ammo will cost too much. I guess we can always throw rocks like they do in the middle east.

Guys what is next...CARBON CREDITS, which means our hobby may be threatened next.

Ahhh anyway I'm punching out of this threat, just spinning our wheels here and will end up getting mad at people here which does us no good.

:gp: I agree that Whamo has had the best post so far. As to Chappaquiddick: I will agree that our senator Ted did something stupid about 35 or 40 years ago. But if you can't come up with anything more recent, do you really feel that you are being reasonable?
I will concede that no one died, but if you are going to judge me by the "absolutely has never made a mistake" attitude that you show to Ted, I am probably just as stupid and ignorant. I was lucky, and for whatever reason, my idiocy did not kill anyone. It could have. Ted was not as lucky as I.
If you want to beat Ted Kennedy over the head with his political positions, feel free. But boy am I sick of hearing about Chappaquiddick. Get a life!
BTW: I would consider myself to be a political conservative.

I overheard some women talking in a bar about their CARBON footprints. I had to lean over and tell one of them that I had 12 cars. She got all excited (not in a good way). I tried to explain that I could only drive one at a time so it was no more pollution than anyone else. Then she said "but your cars probably have V8 motors" as if that was EVIL.

When she started saying that she unplugs her hairdryer when not in use to save electricity I tried to tell her that if it's off it won't use any electricity she said she heard otherwise....idiots.

My gripe is that all carbines and anything with a clip are now assault rifles of mass desruction.

Any way the media can put some demon spin on a gun they will.
