ash trays

Is there a way to get the rust out of ash trays without hurting the chrome?

You can try the old coca-cola trick, but there will always be some pitting where the steel rusted. The mild acidity of the cola does a pretty good job on minor stuff.

Many are reproed like the back seat 70 units. I believe they are the same as a Chevelle. Easier to buy new.

 

Coke works great..kool-aid works better...high acid content but won't harm the chrome.
