I have searched and can only find the 11" plastic chrome bases (The Parts Place has them) but have struck out trying to find the long ones. My car has the "Custom" interior, similar to a GS. Anyone know a source? TIA jess in ky

I thought someone finally reproduced the 16" bases but I could be mistaken. I think it's only Buick & maybe Monte Carlo/GP (could be wrong there too:)) that use them. I have some extra here if you can't find/need. Might need to be dyed.

Good to see you on here! Hope all is well.

I have some unbroken originals but the "chrome" is mostly gone. My originals are fair but one is broken. Is there a suitable "chrome spray" or is someone reapplying the "chrome" on the plastic that will redo good originals? TIA, jess in ky

I think this is what we bought last time. These are the same as a '69-'70 Chevrolet Impala so that's probably the reason they are available. :)

If your car is a '68 then it would have the ribbed section by the handle and those are available but I've not purchased a set to see how the correct the ribbed area looks.

Buquick, did you get to compare these to some original Buick 17" pieces. I would get them if they are the same size. I'm sure my door panels are indented where the backing plates have lain against them for 53 years!

69-70 long arm bases have been reproduced. I bought a pair of ToddGS while ago. Haven’t had a chance to install them on the car. I took them out of the box. They look great.

Jesse, They are installed on our '70 GS Stage 1, no issues.

    Jesse,
You didn't mention which year car you have but these will fit a '68 but do not have the correct in appearance for a '68 since those had the ribbed insert by the handle.

I thought you were orig. talking about the 16" plastic base (missed where you said "chrome:)).

Glad these are avail. & seem to fit/appear ok.

I am not answering the exact question asked, but Impala supply houses can provide the 16" interior colored base pieces in black (must dye to match your interior color).

Here is the set I purchased:

Do they have the pads & if so are they decent?

I did not look for the pads from them, but I think they carry all of the pieces.
