I check this board almost every hour. Then I'm here for about 2 hrs. I have a paper to write but.. NOO someone responds with a unique message then I look to see if there are more threads. then someone trys to sell something or posts an E-bay ad or something then i get over there... then I check my e-mail and notice oh.... so and so responded to that message.... check there and its another cycle. I'd say I'm pretty addicted. I just need to get my A-body lower arm senior design project done. It is looking pretty good right now though. I hope to get the majority of it written today though... and do some number curnching I need to do on it tomorrow. Nate
Before the spring season of irrigation kicked in, I was on this board all the time. Now I am only on it when I am home:grin: Major addiction here. It's nice to keep up though. I go through withdrawls by the end of the day wondering who or what has been posted next:eek2:
I'm Addicted If I go on a week long Vacation I go absolutely Apeshit I am on here about every chance I get. And at work every time I come back to my desk it is a habbit.
Geez. I thought it was just me. Okay, here it is, my name is Reynold and I'm a Buick-O-Holic. There, it's out. Admitting my problem is the first step to the road to recovery. I've got a local friend with a '70 stage car and I've tried to get him to check out the board but he won't stay on it. It's like "Dude, go ahead and inhale, you won't get hooked".
Know what you mean... I'm constantly on here. I think if you search for new threads at intervals under thirty seconds, it can be considered severe addiction. And hey, if there aren't any new threads, search, search, search, search! Man, there are so many things one can think of to look-up. One of the only things that's affecting my addiction to this board is my growing addiction to Al's rust remover. There is something soaking in it at all times. I find myself scouring the house looks for rusty things to throw in. It's a lucky thing my kids don't have red hair or they'd be shampooing with the stuff! My final comment is that I woke up in the middle of the night last night when I heard a loud thud. Turns out it was my chassis service manual that was laying on my chest! ou: I read something in it almost every night as I get in bed. My wife just laughs at me...
worse than dope I myself...from 8am-9pm....I work 7 days a week..always checking for postings while at work....
I'd say I'm addicted, I only leave after reading what I think looks interesting... and I only leave to reset my new message status.
Until recently, my only internet access was at work. I would come in at 7:30AM and sit down to do my bookeeping and check the board. Many times I would lose track of time and the next thing I knew it was 8:30. :eek2: We open at 8:00AM! OOOPPS! Now that I have won the war at home as to what type of computer to buy the house, PC or Mac. (I'm the Macophile, and the wife is now a convert after using one.) I notice I don't have withdrawl symptoms, knowing I can check it at any time, and when I come into work on a Monday I don't have 150+ threads to check out. Besides, now that I've been moved to the corporate office it isn't as easy or wise to spend time surfing. This board and the BPG board are the only 2 I bother with. My wife didn't believe me when I told her how civil and family friendly we are here until I showed her a couple of selected threads. :Brow: (I'm not going to let her in on everthing ya know!) :TU: It's the best! And until I came across this board I had felt alone as a Buick nut in a world of Chevys and Fords.
I have networked my internet connection and am in the process of building a computer for the garage for a total of 3 in the house. I can check the Buick board in my bedroom, in the dining room and soon in the garage. Next is a WiFi connection so I can set a laptop on the air cleaner of my car and check the board while I am under the hood of my Buick. :Comp: That bad enuff? If I spent half as much time working on my car as I do on this board it would be done by now. Then again this board is a lot cheaper then parts for my car.
I ain't got no job so I leave it on during the day and I pop into the spare room with my computer when I walk by. I though you meant to the car! Um, no. Not at all. I can stop doing stuff to the car anytime i want. i just don't want to is all and if it gets to be a problem i can stop sure i have no job but i can collect cans by the roadside to pay for my heads and like i say its just a pastime and it isnt something that is a problem no i dont check the car for tar spots and stone chips daily or spend half a day on the weekend cleaning it inside and out why do you ask?
ou: I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted , I am not addicted !:beer :TU:
I'm here at least twice a day, mostly to check parts for sale or parts wanted. What's really interesting to me is do you realize the average number of posts per respondant is 543. There's even three out of fifteen that are under two hundred, but Adam makes up for the rest of you slackers. Well it does appear that you/we are addicted, at least to some degree. :TU: :TU: :TU: Dave Berry
I'm also hooked on www.collectorcartraderonline.com I've bought three cars there and am always thinking something will show up that has to be had. Probably check it three times a week for 65-72 Buicks to see what's new on the market.
I've got a problem! My son Josh won't let me be an addict on this site or any other. The reason I can't be, is because HE IS! Josh spends around 3 hours per day on this site and probably close to 6 hours on week end days. That boy is SICK!! He unfortunately, knows way more about Buicks and cars in general than I do. I spend all my time working to support his habit. Buy this, we need that, this would be cool. The list goes on and on. Is their help out there? Some day I hope to have the title of father to a Buick Addict Survivor. We hope to meet alot of you guys and gals at the Nats. We'll be there for the first time. Marty
