Are all door panels built the same?

Nobody shoot me, please. I was just curious if all a-body door panels are created equal. I know it would be a sin, but was just wondering if, say, a 70 montecarlo door panel would line up correctly on a Buick or chevelle of the same time frame. It was just a thought.

    Christine,
All GM A-body 2-door non-post front door panels will line up correctly from the same time frame. The 2-door post car and El-Camino's will have knotches for the window frames, so they are different.

All 2-door non-post rear panels should also interchange for fit, but the 2-door post models are different.

    Hope this helps.

One minor thing on door panels that I just discovered recently is that the screws on the bottom are not all in the same place. I replaced the rear door panels on my 69 Sportwagon with nicer ones from a parts car. Well, the holes in the panels for the screws were not in the same place (close, but no cigar) and new holes will need to drilled in the door itself to match to the ones in the panels.
Guess there was just instructions to put them in a general area and there was no way to make the holes in each panel precise.
Live and learn I guess. :Do No:
