That bad black Buick Apollo scored another win last weekend at the Maple Grove, PA divisional event. Of course this really got things stirred up again at classracer.com. It seems others just can't believe those strings of good lights. Of course, neither can I.... What made this race interesting was that Lee had one round win in three years of racing "Stock" at Maple Grove. We liked the track, but it didn't like us... Also of note, the engine had just been freshened up with new heads also(finished up Thursday). Well, at least the engine should be broken in now. Thanks to Paul Cassidy and Bob Lagna for your help in us getting some new parts. Thanks to TA Performance for their help and support. Also a special thanks to everyone here who has really supported us in our efforts!!! Thanks folks!
Congrats Isaac! My buddy races down at Maple Grove, he has an Undercover rail car. When I get my car done I have to take a trip down.
Isaac, congrats on your win. i checked out the classracer.com site. makes me want to go back to stock class.......quite the chat on the 2 step??? and your wins. john
You guys are rockin' in that Apollo - Congratulations :TU: I hope you guys can join us at an east coast BPG gathering. Usually they're in Jersey or PA.
Isaac, congrats to you and Lee on another win!! Glad to hear that the heads worked out. I'm interested to know if ET's were similar to what you normally run or did you pick up at all? I hope the good fortune continues!! Paul
Paul, We haven't got those heads on yet. We are building another engine and they WILL be on that one, if not put on our current engine. thanks again! :beer
Great reading.......Reminds of all the things that were said of a Friend the the year he won the Championship here at Nowalk
Two-step.... It is a RPM controller. With the line-loc on, it will control the engine at a specified rpm. (usually about 2700 rpm for us). This is our starting line rpm. We adjust this for conditions. I.E. high altitude, we raise the starting line rpm for a quicker light. If we are racing someone like Ed O'brian, we lower our rpm because he isn't a good racer (as said by him.) This lowering of the rpm reduces our chances of redlighting. The second side of this "Two-step" is the revlimiter for down-track. This is handy to have like when we broke a rear. We have this set at about 7000 rpm. This protects the engine from over-reving. Neat part is that this is all done in one unit which is our Mallory Ignition box. This is a digital unit which works GREAT. OK, one of the few questions I think I can actually answer.... any more? Take Care All!
Isaac and Lee CONGRADS!! on the win. Its always nice to win at a track that seem to give a guy trouble. I have a lot of those!! Bill
Yeah. When are y'all gonna win your NEXT National event? :TU: Really was honored to meet Lee in Houston. Thanks for keeping us up to date on the news. I bet y'all have the most rabid fans of any Stock class racer!!
