I made the fiberglass hood that you are referring to that was on the Apollo GSX that Tom Rix had. I cut it out of a 1970 Race Weight, Fiberglass hood that got damaged during shipping because the shipper stood it on its nose. I trimmed it on both sides to get it to the correct width and then measured the offset at the front of the hood to align it with the Apollo front nose sheet metal. The fiberglass hoods for our GS’s have a slopping offset whereas the Apollo requires a more defined break line with its offset. To obtain the look and match the Apollo nose sheet metal, I had to add a small amount of fiberglass to the hood to reshape and add definition to the lines. I then had to trim the back of the hood to obtain the correct length of the hood opening. I hope all of this is not too confusing as it was not hard to achieve. Looking at the lines of the hood on the Apollo, it is hard to image that the hood was once going on Oliver's GSX. I purchased the damaged hood from Dave Benisek. I still have the rear part of the trimmed off area of the hood in my shop somewhere. Marv.
That’s awesome where did you order the glass hood from? I knew there had to be an easier option then casting a whole hood. I assume a bolt on will be to wide from the gs factory hinges compared to Apollo Thx again Eric
