Anything hold on the crank oil slinger?

I'm replacing my timing set, and when I took off the timing cover, the crankshaft oil slinger seemed to just be slid on to the front of the crank.

Is this correct, or does something else hold it (besides the timing cover) that is missing?

When you install the harmonic balancer, it is tightened against the slinger.
