On a Rochester I usually weld onto the linkage the round thing that the end of the cable hook slides onto. located so that at full throttle your cable adjustment will be around the middle of the adjustment range, then you set the cable to match the correct throttle pressure for all your shifter selections. A Hayden transmission overhaul book for the 2004r is needed for the specs. A transmission pressure gauge with a hose that you tap into the pressure port that is plugged on the case of the trans.
