Has anyone ever bought or used a torque converter made by Redneck performance or Transmission Specialties? I see them on Ebay all the time. These companys have the stall im looking for at a good price but Ive never heard of these brands before and would like to buy a converter thats not gonna break the day after the warrenty ends or dosent perform like it should. before I bid on one of them id like some feedback from someone who has used one of these before. Thanks, Vinny

    Vinny,
"You get what you pay for" applies to torque converters in a big way. There is no way a converter manufacturer can tell you where a converter will stall in your vehicle without knowing some specifics about your engine and the car it is installed in (namely engine torque, vehicle weight, and gearing) Get a quality converter from a supplier that knows Buicks. I hear alot of good things about a 10" converter that Finishline Motorsports sells. Stage1dom, Johnno, and Skyhawk(was in Jillys stolen Skylark) had good things to say about this converter. It has good street manners(tight), but will stall when you hammer it. PM these guys and ask them about it.

Thanks Larry, I think im gonna look in to this a little more. Mayby I should wait it out and save for a better converter then. I ve had manuals all my life and know alot more about them than I do automatics. I didnt know that it was up to your build and gearing to determine your true stall. I t hought if it says it will stall at 3000, it will. Im still learning. Thanks ~Vinny
