Time for a new Carb. The shop that's doing some other minor work has this carb. My other choice is a rebuilt OE carb.
Just needs some thoughts. Don't want to make a mistake.

    Thanks

#11761 is not a holley carb number . check the list# on front of choke tower .
no part number on box ? no box ? is it just a carb they have laying around ? or a known good running carb . pop up a couple good pics of carb .
stock 350 , cruiser , something in the 650-750 range will be good . stock 4bbl is 750 cfm q-jet . if running a cast oem intake consider a WELL prepped q-jet . not a napa/autozone etc choice . mark and ken on here both do them . good reviews .

Holley 3310 is a great street carb if you're looking for something in the 750 cfm range. I've got one on the shelf Del built that is my backup for everything, and works well on dang near any engine combo.

and I really prefer the older carbs in the classic finish . much better resistance to ethanol corrosion etc . i bought an older version 800DP from Jason awhile back , redid it , great looking carb , fit n finish . that shiney finish they push now is crap . i'm redoing a basic 600 street warrior now ( shiney ) , it's light , feels and looks cheap . looks like , and probably is , made in china ?
in a heavier vehicle ( think stockish "A" body ) automatic , street gears they recommend a vac secondary carb . on my truck I use for testing some carbs I do I've run both . the vac secondary versions are at least as responsive as the DP's . although I do usually use a lighter vac sec spring or the QFT adjustable vac sec unit . I have noticed a dif feel but not really a performance dif . DP sounds dif also , more growl maybe ? I've run everything on there from 500 2bbl's to 750 DP's .

good to know . i was kinda wondering how that worked out for you . that does seem to be a pretty flexible carb . and usually pretty cheap at swaps depending . just paid $5.00 for one at LV - parts carb though - it was ROUGH ! but good bowls for a 600 conversion . $30-$70 is a fair "rebuilder" price normally . kit and new vac sec diaphragm = $30.00+ .

It's been a great carb, Del. It's currently on my F100 and will be there through the winter as I was having issues with my EFI and sent the system back to the factory. I've had it on 3 different engines, and I've only had to change secondary springs (a 30 second job with the Quick Fuel kit) and idle mixture between those engines. Been a great addition to my collection of stuff (always good to have an "old reliable" sitting around) and the finish you put on it still looks great.
