I purchased a Jeep grille at and auction today and I'm wondering what it fits ? It is not uniform like most Jeep grilles I have ever seen it sticks out farther on the passenger side from the headlight hole and has a teardrop shaped hole for mounting something. I figured it was worth picking up.

    Todd,
I have an AMC Jeep parts book.
If you have a number off it, I'd be happy to take a look.

Its for a Jeep Commando. More than likely designed under Brooks Stevens tenure. Pretty trucks they were.

That's my guess too I had both a 1968+a 1969 "Jeepster Commando" great running /went everywhere the air cleaner labels said"Dauntless V-6(Buick 225 powered)Even though their bodies had nothing left to them(rust) their motors stayed stong! :TU:

I do remember hearing them come down the street a block away . That V 6 had a certain sound to it .

Quickly turned to rust , and the rest is history .

I was thinking Jeep Commando or Jeepster myself but all the pictures I have seen looks like there is a light hole on both sides. Was there a particular year that piece was seperate?
