While not in San Diego, Jake Shoemaker of Jake's Performance in Sanger, Texas does real good work and I believe ships. http://www.jakesperformance.com/4l80/ And I know www.phoenixtrans.com in Weatherford ships all over the place. Ask for Greg or Scotty I've been to both places and am currently running a converter Phoenix built. I think you would be better off with either than one of the "big" guys but I've heard good things about Hughes but don't have first hand experiences with them.
Thanks for the recommendations. I know Jake has a premium product but the price is also at a premium and the timing is a bit longer than I'd hoped for... haven't ruled them out though. I'll look into Phoenix right now. Thanks!
I can vouch for Phoenix trans. Have used them for 30+ years. They are currently building me a tricked out 4L80E for my efi/supercharged/555” Tomahawk. Greg and Scott are the best!!! Jim
