Hello all, I am getting a group of local guys together to go to the dyno on Saturday November 6, 2004. The cost is 60.00 for 3 pulls with air/fuel and a printout of your results. The dyno located at Unlimited Motorsports in South Windsor CT. We will be starting about 8 AM and going until we are done. Anyone interested or have questions let me know. Thanks Bob
Bob, I might be interested in that. I am assuming it is a chassis dyno. When do you need a conformation if any? Rob
Rob, yes it is a chassis dyno. We've been there a few times in the past and they are very professional, so we've been making it a yearly thing to see where are cars are at. If you can give me an idea in the next few weeks thats all i need. My friends and I will have enough cars to meet the minimum (10 cars) so if someone doesn't show its no big deal. I just thought it would be cool to get some more buicks up there and for the price you really can't go wrong. Bob
dyno I might be interested in going if there is a bunch of Buicks there just to meet some local guys. It's a little to far for me to bring my car running the 411 gears and I have no trailer. I'd be curious to hear who you guys use for a machine shop over there that knows the Buicks. Later Greg
The '65 won't make it this year, but the Lotus will. Sure, it's no Buick, but it'll still be fun.
matt, i'll trade you my buick for your lotus. i still miss my europa whaaaaaaaa bob i can make it. curious to see what my 73 riv has. i'll pm you my #
The date has been changed to November 6, 2004. That is a Saturday. Starts at 8Am. The more the marrier! Bob
Pretty coincidental slip too!!! Because as we speak, Bob (Buickgsman) is in the western Caribbean on his honeymoon!!!! :blast: he fell into the eternal trap :spank: A pic from the reception is attached. In good Buick fashion, Bob came into the parking lot (outdoor wedding) burning thru 3rd gear as he came up the street. It was kinda funny. This is Bob's 70, my 65 and my brother's GN. The dyno address is Unlimited Motorsports, Nutmeg Rd., South Windsor, CT 06074. You might want to check out mapquest for distance/directions. Matt
I'm thinking about bringing the wagon down to get some numbers before putting aluminum heads on it. How long does it normally take to get the car setup in the facility and make the 3 runs? I'm guessing about an hour per car? How is it normally run? Do we need to sign up for specific slots? Just wondering. I'd certainly be interested to see what some of the other cars are getting for numbers. Thanks. Paul
Hey Paul, We've rented this place out for the last few years. I'd love to see the wagon!!! Each car takes about 20-30 minutes. Usually they warm things up on the first run, hammer it good on the second and see how things appear on the readings. They'll give you a few minutes to make adjustments and then hammer it good again on the third. As far as order, Bob (Buickgsman) and I (and a few close friends) usually allow ourselves to go first. And certainly we'd be inclined to make sure our Buick brothers are in the early circle with us  There's no set order, it's just kind of the order in which you get in line. We've exclusively rented the dyno for the whole day, so everyone there are friends of ours etc. and not just people off the street. It starts at 8 am, so the earlier you get there, the better. If you're interested, just let us know so we have a tentative head count. As for right now I estimate we have about 20 cars. Thanks, Matt
TTT... I'm back from my honeymoon guys.. I'll be following up with everyone that has PM'd me about the dyno. If anyone else wants to go, just reply or PM me. Thanks Bob
Wow I just checked the time and distanec on mapquest. It said it would take me @ 3 hrs 35 mins and is @220 miles :eek2: That would be a long road trip to dyno the car. Dan :3gears:
Bob, I'm planning on coming next week with the wagon. I can PM you with specific information if you need it. Matt also mentioned above that we could try to get the Buicks into the early circle - should we plan on coming at a certain time or just show up? The reason I'm asking is because I'm roughly 2 hours away and trying to plan accordingly. Also I'm assuming the shop has everything we need - I don't need to bring anything in particular? PM me if you need more info. Thanks for answering my questions. Paul
So how many are going tomorrow? I'm planning on attending just to see you guys drool.
stay tuned to this channel for some nice pics!!! and maybe a dyno run vid. my riv 265.9 hp and 375.7 tq
