i have a salvage store that i go to a couple times a week... sometimes they have awsome deals on stuff and sometimes they have OK deals....
tonight i was there and they had the Neo Car Jukebox 20 gig system that has the USB/EIDE docking bay for my PC, docking bay for my car (with wired AND wireless remotes) , cords to hook it to my home stereo, FM modulator to use in case all i had was an FM radio inthe car, software for ripping and ID'ing MP3 files, and a carry bag for the unit. i paid 250 for all of it so i dont feel too bad about that. it is new in the sealed box.

if anyone has personal experience with this item i would like to hear from ya.... good stories OR bad.

i prob wont install it on my PC for a week or so. the lesabre will get its parts installed in a couple months.
they sell a firmare upgrade that lets it speak to you and tell you the name of the (up to 5000) songs you have on hand.
they also sell adapters that let it be controlled by different brands of head units. alpine is one of those brands, but i havent found out yet if it is the alpine A series or M-bus units of both. i have a couple old M-bus units. i might consider using one of them.
OR... the NEO can be hooked straight to an EQ or amp/amps instead of being hooked through a head unit.....
lots of choices. i guess i just need to figure out my plan.

You got a great deal on that MP3 jukebox. Those things are selling for over $800 right now. I've been looking into getting one... but i don't have the cash for it. Don't have much advise for your dilema though, sorry.

i went to the salvage store this afternoon and they had 3 more NEOs setting on the shelves for $250 each..... the also had some JBL mono subwoofer amps model 300.1 ... i think the amps were $169... it was kind hard to see the price tags behind th counter.

    yak @ ya later.
