Anyone ever seen this on a GSX rear spoiler

These small spots are perfectly spaced apart. Possibly from a Ski Rack and that kind of would make sense being this car was originally from the Mountains of NC.

    Any ideas ????

I remember pix on here several years ago about a GSX that had a luggage rack/ ski rack on the trunk, parked out in the snow... ( Or was it a roof rack for skis???)

I think that was a roof rack on a one owner car, which they still own.

My old one had a roof rack for water skis & they towed the boat w/it. There were 4 dents & a crease in the roof.

Car served triple duty - Was also raced regularly & a daily driver.

Are the marks only on the underside?

Yes. They can be fixed so its not a horrible problem its just very odd.

Perhaps it was from an earlier repair Ryan? Still the original trunk lid?

They were prone splitting...wonder if there are screws or something under the putty

The GSX seems like a terrible car for snow. Just sayin'

I agree, I think its from a earlier repair but seems strange the spots are perfectly spaced apart. Yes it had the original trunk lid but after stripping it down we found it had been damaged so I replaced it with a nice clean original trunk lid thanks to a friend here in NC. The spoiler will be fixed and I think I am going to make the hole in the bottom just a tiny bit larger due to the fact that many of these did split over the years. My hope is if I can get it to breath a little better it wont be a problem for me for a very long time.

Ok cool. I have a couple spare spoilers, but I think both are 71 type.

    Ryan,
There was also a dealer bulletin put out to repair the early 70 spoilers that delaminated due to the halves being installed too dry. Basically they drilled and then filled the holes with fiberglass “plugs”.

You could be seeing these dealership repairs on your spoiler.
