    Hi folks,

gettin' ready to bolt on my Bulldogs. Have a Victor/Reinz gasket set. The oil-pan gasket, for one, is much superior to the Fel-Pro. It's about twice as thick and "meaty." Makes the Fel-Pro gasket look like a joke.

I am running Weisco flat-tops, w/ unshaved deck. Should be appox. 10.5 compression.

I know everybody has favorites when it comes to gaskets. Heck, when T/A first introduced their "Orange Crush" gaskets there were plenty of folks complaing that the metal "fire ring" extended too far into the cylinder bore, and they had to "adjust" the gaskets accordingly. Not sure if that problem was ever corrected.

I have used Fel-Pro blue gaskets in the past w/o problems. I heard they came out w/ a new, higher-performance version about a year ago. Never heard any feeeback on them, however.

I was disappointed to see that the aforementioned Fel-Pro blue gaskets do not have their "print-a-seal" silicone bead around the water passages for the BBB, as this same gasket has for many other applicaitons.

Anywho, before I bolt on the Bulldogs I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on head gaskets for aluminum heads with a fairly mild comp. ratio. I think the Cometics would be "overkill."

    Thanks.

    Best Regards,
