Found a Gateway Youtube video from 2014: The key things are the alarm key thing on driver's fender and the St Angelo decal on rear...... I hope still original and not on a rotisserie somewhere.....
I sold it to Randy Closser in 1996.....sadly he was killed in auto accident last year. He had it consigned with Gateway but I believe it didn't sell.
Pretty sure this car was at the GS Nationals in 202 for the GSX reunion. I recall the dealer sticker on the trunk and may have photos of it...
I was there....must have missed it. Whoever owns it can get the whole somewhat bizzare history of it from me .......includes bullet hole, rocks, camper and lots of drag racing...and more.
I know I've seen this car - recall the sticker for sure and the car alarm on the drivers fender is also somewhat unique, although I know of another Yellow GSX with the car alarm in the same area.
Yeah the other one has it is a slightly different place on fender. It was an actual dealer installed one from the Buick accessory catalog. The original owner had it put on after kids stole the bucket seats and all the wheels and tires. They were dumbasses because he was vice principal at their HS and he found out who did it and prosecuted them. Then a little while later someone shot the car, thus the bullet hole I got it with. One of the first repairs I did when I got it. Need to watch that video again and see if it still evident as I'm no bodyman.
I remember the one that was on Denver CL for a long time/repeatedly with the alarm key in the fender...dunno if that was yours or the "other one", but it was in the Colorado area a couple or four years ago.
I know Nick restored one that had the alarm key in front fender but I have seen several.. That car was on eBay at one time because I was interested in it. It did not have AC so I passed on it. I do know who owned it last time it was for sale. I think I still have some pictures of it. I know most of it was all original.
I was looking through my photos and ran across these of what appears to be your former car based on dealer information on the trunk lid and the car alarm on the fender. I don't remember the guy's name that was selling this GSX, but he was also selling the green '70 GS Stage 1 3-speed convertible that was restored by Dave Kleiner (you can see it in the background of one of the photos). I downloaded these photos in July 2023.
HI Nelson Do you know have contact info for the person selling this GSX that you would be willing to share?
If your comment was directed towards me, then yes, I understand that it was your car previously. Was was not clear to me is if you are looking to reacquire the car, or just have a passing interest in its whereabouts. If you are looking to get it back, then I apologize if it seems that I am trying to do an end run on you, as that is not my intention. I asked Nelson about contact info, as I was of the impression that you were merely curious. Cheers
I put real tall tires (29in) on front to keep from redlighting......was in my late 20s....now I'm 70 and have to put 26in on....they do make 24s.....
