I've always had a sweet spot for Muscle cars with small front tires, large rear ones and the backend Jacked way up... Not sure how it really helps performance, but it looks sweet..... Does anyone have pics of skylarks thAT FIT THIS DISCRIPTION..... I guess I'm not really sure how high is too high.. I'm installing a 455, with stage 1 heads, larger cam, and a few other goodies, .030 overbore.... Not really a drag car, but i like to have fun on the highways..... any pics of cars jacked up just about right....? also, with the above modifications, what kinda power can i get outa a 74' buick 455. Stage one valves just had 3 angle valve job, and new springs...
As I've always understood it the jacked up back end helps fuel economy... you're always rolling downhill
I just bought a STINKBUG 70 skylark with air shocks and spring helpers to clear the 275 60 15 with offset centerlines. and 205 70 15 on 3.5 centerlines. ou:
Not the greatest of pictures but 165/15s on the front and 275/15s on the back, mounted on Center Lines (3" & 8.5") always looked good to me.
That looks good. Stinkbug would have shorter front tires, air shocks, etc. and the rear would be "UP THERE".
Jacked up is not the look I'm looking for but's it's what I got...This is about as low as I can get it with those back tires.
not as jacked up as you might think, but it rasied the car a good 2 incges in the back when i put some grand national rims with 275/60's in the back, looked like a sleeper! only problem was, it was asleep...
I kinda like the whole thing up in the air. I had a 72 after high school that was level with the groung but was up probably 2-3 inches from stock. My present one is stock height.
