JASON THEY ARE IN VERY GOOD SHAPE. I WOULD SAY THE "AF" set is the better of the two.The "SM" set has some chipping at bottom so I always used a frame to cover it. Also look at picture the "SM" has a chip on a letter. These were on my cars when I lived in New York moved two years ago. They were on cars that were featured in Magazines. I'll eat the shipping if you want both. I paid $200 a set 10 + years ago to get them. Ron
Other than being collectibles, can these actually be used??! I've always wanted antique plates on my car, but have never known if I could return my current ones for them. Anyone know if it's doable?
Absolutely can be used in NEW YORK. There is a special plate # you call in Albany and then send them a picture of the pair of plates. If there is no conflict you can then register the car for $23 dollars a year because you own the plate. ****NOTE THERE WILL BE NO CONFLICT WITH ALBANY ON THESE TWO SETS! they were mine for 10-15 years and in use.

I've received a bunch of inquiries and low ball offers. I want to better explain these aren't a novelty that you hang on your garage wall or just put on at a show. You pay N.Y.S .$23 a year to register your car with them, That's all. Not to mention they look period correct!! Also the stickers on them are just the car years I had them on but these plates can be put on all the other years they are correct for. Just buy a repro. sticker on internet for the year your using. U can register your car with these plates through Albany. I have a set on my 70 Stage 1 and they look great.
