    Aurora Slot Cars

How much interest is there in slot cars? I've managed to collect a few hundred Aurora cars thru the years before the prices got nuts. Now I don't even want to race them. But now there are new models that you can afford to race.

Still, one thing has always been missing..Buicks!

A few companies are making HO cars in models Aurora never made.

Here's a link to one of them

I wonder if they could be convinced to make some GS GSX models. I'd love to be able to stomp some Chebbys in HO scale.

I'm thinking if we can show the intrest they would probably make them. Also.... V8Buick.com and BPG limited editions would be way cool. Maybe we could generate some funds thru sales of them?

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

Last year I was forced to stop at a yard sale while riding with my wife and mother-in-law, well I bought 24 redline hotwheels car for 25 cents each and a vintage carrying case for 50 cents. I had absolutely no idea they were valuable, I just thought the redlines were cool.

After they sat around the house for a few months someone told me to put them on ebay. I put them on there starting at $5 each, after it was all over the total came to $510!!!!!!!!!! These cars were not mint condition, they were in played-with condition and I stated that in the ad along with nice close, clear pictures. Many people are really into this stuff. I would like to have kept them but money talks...

Karl, I had a pretty big collection about a month ago of Aurora slot cars including a full set of mint-in-box Tjet AMXs. I had fun collecting them for about 2 years, but then decided that for what I had into them I could probably find a SportWagon or another GS project car, so I ended up selling them all last month.
Anyway, I had spoken to the owner of Model Motoring about producing the GS/GSXs and he said that they were in the plans. You have to understand though, this guy is running about 2 years behind schedule on all of his stuff. I would think that we would probably see a '70 GS or GSX sometime in the next couple of years, but it is hard to say. Maybe if the BPG offered up a little money to do a special run (that way a whole bunch of them would be sold before he even started producing them) he would fast track the GS to the production line. I believe that he had already made measurements to have a prototype done, but it was just a little ways down the list.
I would order 2 or 3 if we were able to get him to make them. Heck, I might even buy one in every color! I'm game if the BPG would be interested in getting them produced.:TU:

Geez, you could probably buy a decent GS with the cash you'd make if you sold that beach bomb. Isn't that the holy grail of Hotwheels models?
