I have this brand new type 57 magnetic. I would like to convert it to just a magnetic trigger without the amplifier. I think I can just use the wires from the magnetic pickup to trigger the MSD. I need to do this to run the boost retard box with a 6AL box.
You must have the full version of Acrobat! I cannot cut and paste from Acrobat files. The output of the Mallory is "amplified" The directions for the Boost Timing Master (pn 6452) show the unit only accepting a "points or electronic ignition trigger wire" (connect to the white) or to the magnitic pickup 2 pin connector. MSD shows only this path: distributor connects to boost timing master by magnetic pickup wires, Boost timing master orange wire connect to white 6 AL wire. Then the normal hookups to the coil. If the distributor output can go to the white wire on the boost timing master everything will be great. Just sent a request to MSD to see what is possible. Will probably take a few days.
