Sorry guys, I have used the search feature, but.......:Dou:

My blinkers won't work. They don't illuminate at all.:( I have all new bulbs. They do light as parking lights and when the hazzards are engaged.:) I have switched the flasher. No help. :( There is a small connection under the dash with 3 wires-solid purple,purple/white stripe,purple/white stripe. Where does this connect? My reverse light also are kaput. I've tried to adjust the stupid thing half a dozen times, only to be able to start it in reverse.:puzzled: I really, really hope it's not the turn signal switch,as I know I'm gonna break it messing with the column. :Dou: :error:
    Thanks for your help!!!! :beer

There are usually 2 flasher units, one for the directionals, the other for the hazards. Are you sure you are changing the right one?

Agree with Larry check out the other relay flasher.
Further more I just re-did my Turn signal mechanism with a new one for the first time.
Changed the whole Harness, and all my self. It was a fun job. Pat on the back.
Turns out due to the advice of this board the problem was the little reset spring broke for the one side. It was just laying there broke....
    Been like that for years,

If you should have to go in there, yep there is a part for the the four ways where the little push button thing is on the side.
I think you'll find your problem like Larry stated and nothin' serious.

Thanks guys! I have finally seen in the shop manual that there should be one. :idea2: But the only one that the location is clearly shown for is the flasher on the upper left corner of the fuse block(hazzard?). I am a t a loss :error: . To top it all off my dash is 80%gone-so good thing it's not a snake!!!!!. :Dou: Where the heck is the sucker?!?!?! :Do No:

OK hve gone back and forth under the stupid dash looking for this stupid flasher that is supposed to be attached to the p brake asssm. Is it? Noooooo!!!!! :af: There is a relay of some sort but it is for something else. I go from the stupid manual and diagram to under the stupid dash, and the only thing I accomplished was slicing my thumb open trying to get my fat butt out.

Oh yeah mt back is killing me now.:(

Please, please for the love of all things Tri-Shield, where is the stupid dang thing!!!!:ball: I can't get any other stuff done today cause this is now my obsession....

:puzzled: Ok, took a break for a few hours so I could compose myself. I've read where the flasher may not be where it is supposed to be and stuffed somewhere. :idea2: So while I was under the dash hurting again, I thought it might be behind the kick panel. I've attempted to disengage the cable in the engine bay to remove panel, but of course, hee, hee, I can't. :af: Hee,hee Hee,hee hee heee heeeeeee heeeeee :puzzled:

Maybe God doesn't want me to relay what direction I'm going to go to the general population... heee heeee.:puzzled:

'Scuse me while I go crazy for a time... hee heee.:puzzled:

Oh yeah, bleeding stopped. So I got that gong for me!!!!!

    Wish I could help Bro...
Gots to be something easy, I'm sure.:Smarty:

Just got done pulling my instrument cluster, Radio and dash pad out.
What a fickin' job, I'm hoping to kill about five problems...
But it'll be a week or two. Have to switch the old tach over to the new cluster (Where most have a clock), Relamp with LEDS, New Dash Pad, Fix my radio, get a new speaker, Paint for the metal (Have it matched up already) and we'll be good to go)
Should look fine, when I'm done.
Man they sure don't make them like they use to...I think I've seen stuff in there like old Fiberglass crap when it was manufactured in Fremont, Ca.
I ripped all that mice nest fiberglass out. Metal looks good for 38 Years!
I'll spray a little Permatex Rust Treatment back in there behind, where I pulled out, on the metal.
Should be fun putting it all back together.

If you have to spend lots of time under the dash it may be very helpful to remove the front seat for access and to save your back. Put down a pad and the whole job will not seem as bad. Have a helper handy if you have a bench seat.

Scott, the dask is all off except for the cluster. I would take it off but in this state of mind it will be in pieces...:spank:

Matt, This is my daily driver. I can't manhandle the bench in and out with my back. Anyway I've stared at this thig for quite some time as it is. I'm starting to believe it's stuck behind the kick panel.:idea2:

How do I disengage the release cable on the inner fender? :Do No: I tried and it looks like I'm liable to destroy that as well. :af: The manual is of no help. :(

PS. I dreamed all night that I had togo through this on other cars at shows. No sleep . No sleep....

Dont know if this pic helps or not. It look like from the diagram that its way up top hanging off the main instrument harness. Your looking for a right angle connector with pink and black wires coming off it.

Hate to tell you this J-pop... All of the Katina water finally evaporated and displaced the blinker fluid...Soon the corrosion will set in on the blinkers!!! Now you must buy and correctly use a blinker fluid flush kit. Don't accept any of those made in China or Taiwan kits.(They are out there!!!) Use ONLY genuine GM blinker fluid...
