another new guy (69 4 door skylark 350-2

I'm on the verge of deciding to buy a car from a family member who doesn't have the time to mess with it and its just been sitting. Its a 1969 Skylark....4 door i'm told it has the 350 v8. I have only looked at it on the surface level. The interior is all original and very nice looking no cracks in the seat or anything. It does need a paint job however. I haven't started it up and I didn't pop the hood when i first tossed around the idea of buying it. I am going back tonigh to do more looking and checking of the engine. It has under 70k miles and my cousin said he would give it to me for $1,500. I didn't notice any nasty rust spots but I will be looking more specifically this evening and taking pics with the digital camera. I have been looking and searching all over for info on the 4 door model of this car...looking for anything specs, custom jobs, upgrades, etc. I can hardly find so much as a picture of the car much less any info. Can anyone point me somewhere? and yes i have looked at the sites for buick car club of america and found little to no info on this '69 Skylark Sedan.

    Thanks in advance!

thanks I'll check out the member rides. I had my wife take some pics last night while I poked around the car. See what you guys think of the car and give me honest oppinions. I'm still not decided. The car actually has just over 60k miles on it after looking again last night but the engine needs MAJOR cleaning.

    Tek,
Is that your name? I checked out the pictures.A 4 door is not that desirable But,it is all there! How long has it been sitting? I would love to tackle a project like that! You'd be surprised what a little soap, polish and elbow grease could do.If your lookin for a car to just throw plates on and use it everyday this might not be the one. However if you have the time and patience and a little hard work this could be a great driver if its mechanically sound, especially if it only has 70,000 original miles. If you decide you want it offer $1,000 and go from there. Good Luck!!:Smarty:

warren is my last name :)

Hey thanks for checking out the pics. I am realizing more and more the 4 door is not common. If i buy it it would not be an every day driver. It would be for the mere fact that its some true muscle. Needs alot of cleaning up under the hood as you can see. My cousin said it ran perfectly fine before it was parked...a "few" years ago. I have not gotten it to turn over yet but of course the battery is dead and I have to check for gas. I won't make a decision untill I've heard it run or know it starts at least. I know its not the "coolest" car being a 4 door, but its probably the only "classic" I will ever get my hands on hehe.

    Decisions, decisions...

is the same 350-2 that is in some of the coupes? and would some of the same mods apply to the engine then? Like upgrading to 4bbl to get more HP and such?

    Thanks for your time!
