I grew up in San Francisco out by the Cliff House and had this 73 Regal -whitewalls, hubcaps and a 455 with .030 over, cam, mild headwork and a stock Q.jet and port matched manifolds - (I like the "quiet" of cast iron )-and a TH400 with a shift kit. ANYways I was headed down Geary Blvd one Saturday afternoon with my girlfriend ( now wife..) and we were in the high avenues headed downtown. This guy in a bright yellow Chevelle 396 rolls up and after eying my girl, blurps the throttle and gives that "C'mon, try it look" laughs, and nails it. We start hauling pretty good and he's laughing as he starts to pull away and then, the look on his face when those Silver Dollar secondaries opened up thru the K&N and she walked away , was priceless. Truly a Kodak Moment. My wife to this day growls around a bit when I open up and nail someone, but I still see the sparkle in her eyes. She likes a good kill too.

Great kill story. I heard a similar one when I was in the service in the mid eighties between a 74' Century and a vette. With the same results of course.

Nice job:TU: I am always fond of killing chevelle's. As my dad was a chevelle nut and always telling me when i was younger that his chevelle was this and that. Funny thing, now that he ran my 72 GS455 at the track one day he is now building a 70 GS455. Nice job i don't think i could of let that guy think that he was winning. But sure would have liked to been there when you opened it up.:beer
