I have to say....I'm dissappointed in my cars inability to to put on it's normally good show of wheelis for the crowd........The thing felt plain terrible.

Seemed like it was lazy and then kinda bounced through 2nd gear.

I'm gonna try a different set of slicks maybe this weekend and see if it comes back around.......
I just put new Goodyears on since I've always had good luck with them but they recently changed the construction and my car does not like it.
I feel the air was good enough Sunday morning for the car to have touched a 9.60-something.....Best pass was 9.75.

    I NEED MORE POWER:af:

hey gary i heard a lot of cars were running way off there normal including mine. some cars were also running really good. I just couldnt seem to get a handle on the track. new tires and the car was spinning really bad. then you take rod's car which was hooking too much. go figure. It was still a good time and congrats on your final round appearance. See ya at norwalk.

Gary, you and I couldn't have had more opposite results at Quaker with new Goodyears. I was off less than a tenth from my average ET at home, and had some great wheelies. I hope to see your wheels airborn in Norwalk next month.:TU:

I wonder if the slope of the track had anything to do with the odd, varying results? Diffrent chassis setups might react different to the slope? Is the first 60' level?

The first 1100 feet is level and then it goes up, before and beyond the finish line.

Gary i watched several of your runs. It seemed as if you got good bite at the line and then spun the tires shortly after launch.
Keep in mind "What the hell do I know".

My 60' were off as well, but my tires are way past due for replacement. 60' times have been off at home for the last couple of races also. I am thinking of switching to Good Year D1 compound, local racers seem to like them. I have had traction problems from time to time with the M/T tires that I have been using.

Gary your performance being off didn't bother me a bit, I am sure we will try this again in the future.

Might I add my 6 year son loved your car, but wanted to see the dog/horse more.

    Gary,

I know it would have been better if your car ran on target, doesn't matter to me. Got to meet up with you again have some laughs and a little bench BS'ing. Just having you and your car at the event was great! As with me, my slicks are almost 2 years old and I finished them off with mostly 1.35 sixty foot times. Would have bought new ones, but the money tree at home is picked clean of green leaves:laugh: and my wife locked it in the closet.

No doubt new tires will et me lower, but like it was said "what do I know" I haven't been out racing for almost 2 years, last running high 9.80's so anything better than that was great for me. AND NOTHING BROKE :Dou: Rob Chilenski and Jim Weise definitely did their homework on this engine, THANKS!

At Cecil I will no doubt be in the high 9.20's with new slicks and looking for you there.

See you at Norwalk next month:TU:

No need to apologize Gary, the barometer was low....at least it was cool!
What's the story on those Good Years? They have a blank box where the name would be. Or where they inside out?

I thought you liked Phoenix. I was hooking pretty good with my 3 yr old, dry rotting (from welding at the chassis shop) Phoenix...1.36.
Cecil on a good day will be 4 tenths quicker than Quaker!!!!!

I hear you may be making the trip.......come on now...... we go out your way.

E-town too in a few weeks.....

Remember too Gary that the elevation at Quaker City is 1300 feet above sea level. That elevation alone will hurt your e.t.

Like everyone on this thread said they were down on power(and it's not the cars fault for that).

Thanks for the picture Rick.....All the ones I've had before now were with me behind the wheel.

Can't wait to see evryone sooner than later.....

The "new" GY's have yellow letters which I removed first thing.

I have a set of MT's to try.......

Car has run 9.63 with only a 1.34 60 ft and has gone 1.31 60 ft's on a day where the track is good but into a stiff headwind....

I really need to find a 9.5XX......I know it's in there.

I almost took off the exhaust.......But then decided against it.

It's in Cecil County. You'll find it if you come. Maybe even a 9.40! C'mon....you know you want to. :TU:
