My 67 LeSabres 340 burns and leaks its share of oil and has a bad problem with the lifters ticking (may'be the lifters just need to be tightened down who knows), not to mention the trans is shaky when I take off from a dead stop. Luckily enough shortly after buying it I found a rusted out 69 LeSabre parts car. It has a strong running 350 engine and the turbo 400 in it seems to work just fine. Since I'm gonna swap the motor and trans from the 69 into the 67 LeSabre, I figured I have no use at all for the 340 and a friend of mine wants to see if he can rebuilt it and see if it runs just for experience on how to do a Buick motor. He does have a great deal of experience working on cars (he worked on cars since the age of eight when with his dad on the 70 Chevelle he owned) and has tore down an engine and reassembled it before (it was a 4 cylinder though from a Cavalier so I'm assuming there is quite a bit of difference). Just figured I'd ask if this seems worthwhile so we both can learn how to do engines.

    Thanx,
    Patrick

P.S. since I'm tearing the 69 LeSabre apart I'm sure someone prolly needs something out of it, just PM me and I might have what your looking for

I for one would prefer that you sacrifice a Ford 302 as a "first motor guinea pig", but yeah, any experience you get will help in the future. BE CAREFUL, and work clean. You may make good on this deal.

So are you driving to Bruces new pole building so the 67 can go "under the knife"? I'll ask him if you want. Goodluck! :TU:

Hey Rob, thanks but I've already gotten my dads shop, this is my second parts car, I think he likes destroying them once I strip them (he took a sawzall to my first Caprice and made it into a convertible). Oh and has he said when his next bbq gonna be yet?
Schurkey, My friend Kritz wants to learn more about the internals of a Buick, I think I'm converting him from chevy to Buick.

    Thanks for the opinions all,
    Patrick
