Guys, I need some advice on this problem. I absolutely LOVE the 455 Buick engine. I think, and have been backed up by many car magazines that it is one of the premier engine designs to come out of the muscle-car era. But I fear this may be playing too large a role in my life. I have to wake up at about 5 am every day for work  , and recently, I changed my alarm time from 5:00 am to 4:55 am, to celebrate my love for this engine. My girlfriend says it has gone too far, and I need help. I tell her its a guy thing, she would never understand. What do you guys think? I mean, I'm your normal car guy, I am aroused when a woman smells like 120 octane race fuel, I make slurpees out of anti-freeze (very sweet!), I kiss my car goodnight every evening, I use Mothers Car Wash in the shower.... just the same as any car guy, right?
What are talking about......I named my 2 kids Electra, and Riviera! Just kidding..............
Don't feel bad, I just moved into my house and I have a garage now. I tell my wife as i open the kitchen door to the garage(which the skylark is parked in front of) Look at that pretty blue smile. (skylark is blue).
Guys it's a fine line between HOBBY and MENTAL ILLNESS!!!!!!!!!! I've found myself telling my wife of three months that it's OK to eat ramen noodles and mac & cheese so I can buy NOS parts for my car. Every time the UPS guy drops off a package She gives me the look and I say you just don't get it. When we bought our house in June I insisted on a heated garage and that was my only stipulation, I didn't care what the house looked like. It's funny I sleep with a picture of my car next to me, don't have pictures of my kids in my wallet just my car. I have nothing but car mags in the bathroom, and downstairs is filled with Die cast muscle cars. I found myself Drooling at the sound of a Big Block while forgetting to answer her questions. When she asked me what I wanted for my birthday and christmas I handed her a Year One catalog. I think she is getting used to it now, She actually watched Two Lane Blacktop with me the other night.
You're not alone! Been married for almost three years, and my son is 1 1/2 years old. My GS has been in my wallet since I bought it in 1998 and the rest of my family just made it in early this year.
Corey You Might Be Sick! Corey you might be sick if you are drinking those Anti-Freeze Slurpies!:gt: Other than that your behavior is quite normal. I'm like the rest of you guys in most way's,i bring pics of my car to work, never my family, which reminds me i need to get photo's of my wife and son in my wallet,i've only been married 12 years!ou: The UPS truck is one of my most frequent visitors,my wife definitely knows the shape of a bumper package all to well, can't sneak them by anymore!!! And my garage WILL HAVE HEAT BY NEXT WINTER or else!:spank:
All of the responses sound like perfectly normal behavior to me, I've been that way for over 20 years now, just smile!
YES.... YES. I still have that prob. Also there is a street sign by my house that warns of an upcomming stop sign and under it is 455' THinking about adding that to my home Decor:Brow:
sounds normal to me too. About 18 years ago when I met my wife I told her that my car came first then she, She excepted that and now she says I need to tuck the cars in, because is going to be chilly tonight. Well trained I say! fernando
