I am selling a 1974 Buick Apollo that is in nearly mint condition with only 14,069 miles on the odometer. It's totally stock, except for an aftermarket Flowmaster Exhaust that the previous only installed. I'm asking $14,000. Is that too much?
Put it on Ebay and see what the bidding gets to. Thats what its worth. Set your reserve at a price you can live with and if they meet it, its gone.
Way too much in my opinion, here's one on this site that is pretty nice, although not original like yours. Good luck. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?230628-1974-Buick-Apollo
Really? Even though mine is almost totally original, with AC, and 14,xxx miles? I would think with such low mileage, someone would grab it. ---------- Post added at 12:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:30 PM ---------- Apparently Haggerty doesn't have a value for my car, as it isn't popping up when I search under Buick.
Use NADA as a guide........I think your way high though, even with the low mileage. Problem here is someone looking for this type of car is usually looking to build somewhat of a "sleeper" and will have to change out the drive train so there is the added expense. But, it would be a great foundation for a nasty 350
Just because it has low miles doesn't make it valuable. http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1974/Buick/Apollo/2-Door-Sedan/Values
I have a couple Apollos. Unfortunatly these cars are essentially worthless. They are a labor of love. I can't remember any selling for more than 8k, if that. Yours is a remarkable example, I would enjoy it for what it is..
I used tool to find the approximate value of my 70 Skylark and my recent find, a 78 Firebird Formula 400. Turns out the Firechicken is worth quite a bit more! That`s just not right:laugh: Jim/Rott
OK then, lets get that bucket 'o bolts together and sold fer we can finish up the Buick! Happy New Year!:beer BTW, will be hanging out at the shop till about 1, then prolly off to Chuck's place.
The latest Old Car Price Guide puts it at $7,700 in class 1 condition. I would add another 30% for the low miles.
The issue is simply low demand for the year and model, regardless of low mileage. There needs to be a certain level of demand to get premium prices. I tend to think $7-$10k, leaning to the low end though. My first car was a 73 Nova, and I like the Apollo/Nova models of the mid 70's, but no room for a 2nd old car. ---------- Post added at 08:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:57 PM ---------- Where are you trying to sell it? You don't have an ad here.
So do you have pics you can post? I notice your other post where you said you got it cheap.:bglasses: They have a very small following, and like someone else said, the car will be raped to modify if you sell it.Just keep it & enjoy it!:beer And no way will you get $14K.$5K would have me running to the bank.
Keep it, drive it and enjoy it. If its not for you, I say ebay it with the reserve being what you have into it and let the bidding begin.
I have a 74 Apollo restored, not frame off but over 13,000 bucks in it. I have it for sale here and I had it on ebay. I can't get 7,900.00 for it with a 70 315HP GS motor! Go e bay with a reserve of 8,000.00 if you can swing it. Or where ever you want to go with it. You can always re-list and go lower. Good luck. ps. I won't buy another Apollo they are just too hard to sell. My son will keep his 74 Apollo GSX with S2 TE 455 with 1050 cfm 4500 series Quickfuel carb.Over 25,000.00 invested.
