I have the original 1968 Electra 225 custom convertible AM radio, light works, but nothing else. Not sure if the radio is bad or speakers or both (1 in front dash and 1 in middle of rear seat), regardless, I need FM.

I'd like to get a reconditioned, tested and guaranteed original radio if possible, I understand that a an auxiliary input can be added. I think Ive seen a posting in the past that you can send your radio in for that, but I need to replace my AM.

If I'm asking for too much, or cost is higher than buying a new classic fit type radio I will, any recommendations for a good or best source for that?

Any help or leads would be appreciated.

    Mike,

I have an OEM Delco AM FM Stereo originally from a 1970 Buick Electra 225 that I am selling.

All the push buttons, the AM FM slider bar as well as the volume and tuning knobs work smoothly.

Previously, a stereo shop had checked over the unit including cleaning, lubrication and replacing capacitors as necessary.

Having said this, however, I have not operated the radio recently although it did work well when I used it. I will try to see if it can be checked to confirm that it works now. Nevertheless, I would be willing to guarantee it to work as of when you would receive it.

I am offering the unit for sale for $115. This is less than I paid for it. The cost of the radio shop going over the stereo was on top of that.

If you purchase the unit, I can ship it FEDEX ground or some other means to you. Your shipping cost would be the actual amount.

    Thank you.

    Jim

OK,I have the radio out. Looks I cant use a radio with the built in amp add on.I'd like to test the speakers to see if I need to replace them. The car is a convertibleso I only have 1 front and 1 rear speaker. I thought Ive seen a connectiondiagram but can locate it on the site now. Can someone give a little advise onwhat leads go to the speakers? I have an idea that its the 2 closerconnections on the 3 connector block, if so, would this be a 2 wire system thattravels to both speakers?

Also,I see the antenna cables male connection is trashed.

    Asalways thanks in advance.
