LOOKING FOR A AM/FM RADIO FOR MY 1967 GS CONV AS LONG AS DASH IS OUT FOR REPAIR ON MY WINDSHEILD I WOULD LIKE TO PUT RADIO IN INSTEAD OF CONVERTER UNDER DASH GENO :beer
You can get the AM converted to AM/FM by several vendors... or go to a new shaft radio like the Sanyo MAR B1021. - Bill
Bill, Who does this? Does the radio still appear stock? My 70 has an AM radio in the dash. Someone stuffed an aftermarket radio in the glovebox and cut 6" round speakers into the rear armrests. The aftermarket works ok, the speakers in the rear need replaced. I want to get the aftermarket radio out of the glovebox. If I had an FM radio in the dash, I could just use an iPod & transmitter and be pretty happy with that. Would replace the rear speakers, too, but that's fairly easy. I'm not a real geek about high-tech/high quality, just want decent selection and the ability to reach the thing while driving!! Any leads would be appreciated, thanks! edit: forgot to add that I want to retain the stock appearance.
I know of one in a car at a yard but will not get there until the end of April. I am going to grab it the next time I am there.
radio Just Googled and found these: http://store.yahoo.com/nos-mopar-parts/orcarradfmco.html http://home.gate.net/~gtayman/stereo.htm A little pricey at $370-$500. I think there are some ads in Hemmings and other rags, I'll see what I can find. Anyone else? - Bill
Geno, there is one on Ebay rite now. It is for a 66 Skylark, but is the same as 67 except for the knobs. Thanks, Scott
