This FACTORY AM/FM radio worked in a 68 California I once owned. Removed it to install a AM/FM/CD unit. Sold the car. Put this radio it on a shelf till now. SOMEONE needs it more than I do. It will work in a 69 as well, altho the face plate is visually slightly different. It has the ultra RARE dealer installed power antenna switch and a nice besel too! The SLIDER AM/FM selector moves freely and the station dial is smooth operating in both directions. The control knobs may NOT be correct for 68/69. I beleive they are 70-72 type. o No: As you see it: $295 plus S/H/I. International shipping considered with obvious International shipping rates and customs fees as applicable. :beers2: REPLY here. . . No PM's! ThanX! :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Hi Mark....here's the best I can do... I have an old 8 ohm speaker, a few wires, an inline fuse and an old battery. I will hook it up to see if it still works as it did when I removed it years ago. Without an antenna I am not sure if any understandable sounds will be heard but I will let you know the results! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Hi Mark. I took some time this morning to hook up this AM/FM radidio for ya. With a battery, some random wiring, a 65 Riviera 8ohm factory speaker, too bad I couldnt find an antenna in my stuffs, nevertheless, here are the results: Turn the switch on, Dial LIGHT goes ON, (see pix) I can hear the speaker making the typical slight 'power up' noise as power is turned on/off. I can hear the fuzziness of the radio struggling to pick up local airwaves... (I have a short video proving this point if you want to see it? Send me your email addy) :beers2: IMHO, I sincerely believe this radio can be installed and it will work with the right gounding, speaker hookup and a good antenna. It worked very well when it was in my 68 California quite some time ago. Let me know if this interests you. If not, I will separate the besel, power antenna switch and list them all individually on Ebay! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
FYI, you can stick a long screwdriver in the antenna and 9 out of 10 times you'll get a station. There's two speakers that need to be hooked up, one off the main connector and one off the blue wire. System uses a common gnd, so the Neg of the speaker can connect directly to the chassis. If there is no fader (Right knob) there has to be a jumper in place. Do not operate this without speakers (Or a 8-10 ohm load), it can damage the output transistors. Most often, sitting causes static in the volume and fader which sometimes can be cleaned. You need to tune in a station to ensure the tuner is working correctly.
Hi wheelz, I have been busy, and not here much. I am going to pass right now. Hopefully someone else who needs one of these can see the value in a good working radio. Thanks sir for checking it out. Mark
