    Hey Guys and Gals,

Below is an interesting article on aluminum connecting rods. I just thought some of you may be interested in reading about them.

Also, as some of you may have seen in my past posts, I am looking to reduce the weight of my rotational components in my engine. This entails lighter pistons, lighter connecting rods and of course a lighter crankshaft (82 lbs is wayyy to heavy). In the article below it states he is aiming for an aluminum rod that weighs 400 grams. That is extremely light!!!! For those of you that are running aluminum rods... What is there weight? for what length? and what crankshaft journal size?

    Thanks

    Bruce,

I will be headed to the PRI show this weekend and hope to get some information about these connecting rods. I will post the info if I can get any.

Clint and Freed, glad you enjoyed the read.

    Very interesting article John!!:TU:

Splayed rod bolts, non-gaulling surface, 150-200(or more) grams PER ROD reduced weight, etc.........very cool indeed!!!:bglasses: :TU:

I really liked seeing the possibilities with this technology being applied to superchargers!!! Imagine rotors and a case that CAN'T chew each other up!!:Smarty:
