I currently have a 70 Gulfstream Blue Post car that is going to be my"new" racecar project.I have been plotting out where exactly I want to go with this car and have come up with the following so far.I will install my refreshed 462 with an automatic and I want to back half the rear using a 9 inch and my 15x14 widened Buick Ralleys.I am letting it a column shift and have a 10 point roll bar for it also.I already have 70 front and rear glass bumpers and would like to get a 3 1/2 -4 inch cowl hood as well as front fenders and decklid.Tonight I was looking at the firewall and thought that it would look decent with an aluminum firewall.I have seen this on a few racecars and always wanted to do this to one of my cars. Now,here are the questions.

How do you attach the firewall to the existing firewall?

Do you remove the stock one first then place the alumium one in the hole?
How and what type of fasteners are used?

What do you do around the brake master cylinder? My car has non power brakes.

Does anyone have any pics to assist me?

What do you have to do around the mount for the fenders?Do glass fenders have provisions for the use of the bolts that hold them to the firewall?
I was thinking that it wouldn't be too difficult but may re-think my opinion.I hope this doesn't make it look like I'm an idiot asking all of these questions, but I would rather ask first that to butcher up the car.

Hi Pat. I'll try to answer your questions in order.
    1. Mine replaced the original one.
    2. The original one was cut out with an air chisel and the new one went in it's place.
    3. About a million pop rivets hold it (and all the the rest of my aluminum) in place.
    4. My master cylinder was moved and mounted in the (aluminum) floor, about 12 inches in front of my seat. It's attached to part of the tube chassis under the floor and sticks right up thru the floor.
    5. My car is at the paint shop now. I'll ask my buddy to take some pics of the master cylinder, firewall, and inside the fenders and send them to me and I'll re-size and post them.
    6. The reason the car is getting some paint, is because I just had the 'glass fenders and doors hung on the car. I believe all the stock mounting points were used, as well as two extra points on top of the fenders, back toward the windshield, that we are going to swap in Dzus-clips for the bolts that the chassis shop installed for strength. I felt the bolts thru the top of the fenders looked tacky. The Dzus-clips fit better with the look of the car, since they hold everything else together on the rest of the car, like the bumpers, hood, and decklid.

I'll get back to you here with the pictures. Take it easy, Doug.
