I wan to buy a new aluminium rad, the less expensive I've found is the Summit one, half price than Becool.

be cool , should be called "be ripped off" . i had a buddy order one from summit for his 64 gto . (originally had tanks top and bottom ) being a four-speed car he didnt need a trans cooler , advertised as a custom fit . well it came as a cross flow like the rest , and all it had custom was a small piece of aluminum angle welded to the bottom . we had to fabricated everything . price = somewhere around $450 . being that buicks are already cross flow , and my automatic car only drives in the summer , i bought me a stanard GRIFFIN without a trans cooler ( ive always had an external) . except for some slight trimin to the top of the radiator it fits great , price $179 from www.jrmotorsports.com

A buddy of mine bought one of those $179 aluminum radiators from Jegs and put it in his G body. He had to tap the upper lip down but other than that it fit fine and keeps his BBO at 180*

I ordered a custom Griffin thru Summit about a year ago. I had a trans cooler installed and an embossment for the temp guage sending unit. It's still in the box in my garage up on the shelf, so I can't vouch for it's performance, but WOW what a beautiful piece. I think it would almost be ashame to get it dirty.

It wasn't necessarily cheap though. I think all said and done, it was around 5-600 bucks.

You can also get a rad from a 90 Park Ave. These are aluminum and usually go for $130. Works like a charm. Have been using these for 10 years now.

For the transmission, is it better to go trough the rad, or can I go directly to a transmission cooler. Radiator are a lot less expensive without heat exchanger. but what best for the trans?
