Getting started. Lots of time ahead with flow testing and porting.

One of the sets of heads was machined by TA (guides and valvejob etc) and the other set Chris is machining himself. As with the alum BBB heads he is sharing info with TA about how to improve the next runs of heads and machine work processes.

The new engine will be 10:1 with a 35 thou quench zone and the turbos, E85 fuel. Scotty Brown is cutting a new cam for the combo, should run well. Ive also got a NA 13:1 350 I may test the heads on, but in the end it will feature some max effort iron heads that were welded and changed to a closed chamber design.

Material will be welded back into the heads as well, very strategic.

What Con rods, and what rpm will the engine see, with this proposed .035 piston to head clearance?

Sorry it’s 40 thou piston to head clearance with a small 3.830 bore so not much rocking to account for. It’s nothing like a 4.3+ bore, far less rocking. Custom pistons with valve reliefs, Herche forged rods, King crank. Planning to spin to 7500, belt driven wet sump weaver with SRE pan.

Here are the flow tests for the intake side of the heads:

The first set are the TA heads, ported by TA. The second set are ported by Chris and machine work done by him as well.
